For a brief moment, neither of them spoke as they stared into each others eyes; studying every move; every facial expression. Although she opened her mouth to speak, words seized to follow. There he was; his tall, muscular body blocking her pathway. Why? She asked herself, why is he here? As if he could read her mind, he spoke “I came up to see her.” “See her?” she replied angrily. “You know how she feels about you Vinnie! You promised me that you would leave her alone! Where is she anyway? She asked as her eyes scanned the hotel room; searching.
“Cindy. Something happened.” At that, their eyes met. “What the hell are you talking about Vinnie,” she demanded, placing her hands on her hip. Although she attempted to be stern, her voice shook with concern. Effortlessly, she pushed his strong body aside and made her way into the hotel room. Shoes and random items of clothing covered the floor, the bed unmade. “Carrie!” she asked nervously, “Carrie, where are you!” “Cindy”, he pleaded, “please listen to me. Something has happened.”
Suddenly fear encompassed her body, and she began to tremble. “Is she ok? What do you mean something has happened?” “You may want to sit down”-he started. Ignoring his plea, she walked to the balcony and that’s when she saw her. Gasping in horror, she began to cry, clutching her stomach that twisted in agony. There she was, her pale blue dress clinging to her lifeless body. She watched as the waves rolled over her body, pulling her to shore.
Perspiration like rain, drizzled down his face as he moved towards Cindy. His heart, beating in rapid succession. “Cindy”, he muttered. “Please listen to me.” At the sound of his voice, her lip curled in a snarl. “What did you do Vinnie?” she yelled. “What the hell did you do?!” Surprised, he pressed forward moving closer to her reaching for her arm. “Please Cindy, just listen!” “Get your hand off of me Vinnie!” she replied protectively. “I swear to God, if you touched her” she moaned, tears streaming down her face. “I didn’t do anything!” he yelled back, dodging her balled up fists that delivered blows to his abdomen. “She jumped Cindy, she jumped!”
